Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is ideally located very close to the city center, providing a quiet and convenient stay. The rooms, although spacious and clean, require navigating steep stairs. The service was overall great, although with a noticeable European touch. Dining was slightly pricey but delicious, with an option to dine in an Irish pub right next door.
The hotel is ideally located next to excellent dining options and close to downtown. The rooms are spacious and clean, with thoughtful amenities like a free bottle of water and a small bottle of Merlot. The service is exceptional, particularly with late-night check-ins. However, the dining experience fell short with limited breakfast choices. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Ghent, and the easy access to transportation adds to the convenience.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms had a very comfortable feel with an 'old Flemish house' flair, featuring high ceilings supported by century-old wooden beams, creating an airy and light ambiance. However, the room was a bit cold, likely due to its large size and high ceilings. The steep, windy staircase to reach the rooms may not be suitable for children or those with mobility difficulties. The service was very nice, and the staff nearby were quick to assist with anything required, although there was a minor warning not to be influenced by a potential issue. The location was very good, offering private parking and easy access to all the places of interest in the city center, with a pedestrian area just 100 meters away. On the downside, the dining options were limited, with a recommendation to explore alternatives nearby. The hotel's facilities were decent, with artisanal bread available. Guests looking for a cozy retreat close to the main attractions of Ghent may find this hotel suitable for their vacation.
The hotel has a unique mix of neo-Georgian and Irish country cottage vibes, with an early ready breakfast at 11 AM by the river side bar. The service was friendly and incredibly helpful in guiding us on sightseeing. A lovely Irish bar attached to the hotel adds charm, although the dining options are basic without much variety.
The hotel is centrally located with rooms up a very steep windy staircase not suitable for children or those with mobility difficulties. While the kitchen gases could be a downside, the overall convenience is remarkable despite a slight damp smell from the bathroom being 'in' the room.
